The State of Indiana has expanded the list of immunizations that students entering grades 6-12 must receive.
Beginning with the 2010-11 school year, students entering grades 6-12 must receive the following:
• 2 doses of Varicella vaccine given on or after the first birthday,
and separated by age appropriate intervals as defined by the
CDC, OR a history of Chicken Pox Disease documented by
parent with month and year included
• 1 dose of Tdap (tetanus–diphtheria–acellular vaccine) given on
or after the 10th birthday.
• 1 dose of MCV4 (meningococcal conjugate vaccine)
Immunizations must be completed and updated immunization forms must be turned into school prior to the first day of school on Aug. 11.
Your child may have received one or more of these vaccinations already. Please check your child's records to see if these additional immunizations are still needed. Students who already have received these vaccinations must provide thhe immunization record to the school nurse.

County health department offers clinics
The Hamilton County Health Department also is offering the three vaccines at clinics from 1-3 p.m. on the following Wednesdays:

May 26
Parents are to take their child’s previous shot record to be updated. A parent or legal guardian must accompany a child younger than 18 years.
The health department is located in Suite A at 18030 Foundation Drive.
There is a $5 fee per child with a $10 limit that must be paid in cash.
